Haldex to Build Air-Brake Compressors in China

rake manufacturer Haldex said it signed a license and manufacturing agreement with a subsidiary of Chinese manufacturer Asimco Technologies to manufacture a new Haldex-designed twin-cylinder air-brake compressor for commercial vehicles.

Haldex said July 25 it would market and service its new compressor in markets outside China, with deliveries to North America scheduled for late this year. The compressor builds air pressure for the braking system and is powered by the engine.

In February, Haldex said it had won a $75 million contract with a “major global diesel engine manufacturer to supply truck brake system air compressors for their North American production."
