Federal Transit Administrator Peter Rogoff is filling the position of undersecretary for policy at the U.S. Department of Transportation on an acting basis, Bloomberg News reported.

Rogoff has been in charge of transit at DOT since 2009. He replaces Polly Trottenberg, who left the department to become transportation commissioner of New York City.

Much of DOT’s top management has changed recently, with Anthony Foxx replacing Ray LaHood as secretary in July. The department’s No. 2 job of deputy secretary is being filled on an acting basis by Victor Mendez, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has an acting chief in David Friedman.
