Trucking technology startup FR8 Revolution Inc. has launched FR8.guru, a load tracking and fleet optimization platform and marketplace.
Carriers can use the platform to schedule, route and load their trucks, while shippers can utilize the system to track loads in real time.
The company said it had been testing FR8.guru with select carriers, shippers and brokers since receiving an investment of up to $8.5 million from MAN Truck and Bus, a Volkswagen subsidiary.
FR8.guru uses a web-based dashboard to give small and medium-size fleets more control and oversight of their operations. The software tracks fleets with up to 500 trucks, providing carriers and their shipper customers real-time notification of estimated arrival times.
The platform also helps carriers boost utilization and profitability by automatically finding freight to fill excess capacity and backhauls to reduce empty miles, the company said.
FR8.guru also offers a companion mobile application for drivers that provides routing and schedule information. The app also gives drivers an anonymous way to rate their experiences with docks and shippers.
