Forward Air Corp. Founder to Step Down

cott Niswonger, founder of Forward Air Corp., is leaving the trucking company to focus on his charitable work and other personal interests, the Associated Press reported.

Niswonger, who started the company in 1990, said he will not stand for re-election as chairman of Forward Air’s board of Corp. at the company’s annual shareholders meeting this month, AP said.

Niswonger, 57, said he is stepping down to focus on the work of his charitable Niswonger Foundation, managing investments and taking more leisure time, AP reported. He created the foundation last year and at the end of the last fiscal year it had $21.4 million in assets.
