FedEx Freight Opens Five New Service Centers

edEx Corp.’s less-than-truckload unit FedEx Freight said Tuesday it was opening of five new service centers as part of a strategic expansion throughout the United States.

FedEx Freight has opened a 22,000-sq. ft. service center in New Haven, Conn., to serve the southern region of Connecticut and parts of New York and Rhode Island. In Avon, Mass., it opened a 16,000 sq. ft., 32-door center, replacing a 20-door facility, which will serve Boston and surrounding areas.

It opened a new 16,000-sq. ft. service center Grand Rapids, Mich., to cover the Grand Rapids, Mich.



FedEx Freight opened a facility in Staunton, Va., with more than 17,000 sq. ft. of dock and office space, to serve the Charlottesville and Harrisonburg, Va., areas, and eastern West Virginia. It also opened a facility in Wilmington, N.C., with 6,000 sq. ft. of dock and office space, for the Wilmington area and the southeastern North Carolina.
