Dynamex Reports Lower 3Q Income

Logistics and delivery firm Dynamex Inc.’s fiscal third-quarter profit fell to $1.6 million, or 17 cents a share, from $3.8 million, or 37 cents, a year ago.

Sales for the quarter ended April 30 fell 18.4% to $92 million, the company said Wednesday.

Dynamex also lowered its 2009 earnings outlook to 80 cents to $1 per share, from $1 to $1.20, and said its sales would be in the $390 million to $405 million range.

Dynamex, which provides same-day delivery services, is ranked No. 60 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
