Dynamex Reports Higher First-Quarter Income

ogistics and delivery firm Dynamex Inc. reported first-quarter net income of $3.6 million or 34 cents a share, up from $3.2 million or 27 cents a year earlier.

Sales for the fiscal quarter ended Oct. 31 rose 11% to $101 million, the company said late Wednesday. Operating income rose 18.9% to $5.8 million.

Excluding exchange rate fluctuations between the U.S. dollar and the Canadian dollar, sales rose 8.8%, Dynamex said. Higher fuel surcharges accounted for about 0.6% of the sales increase compared with last year’s first quarter.



Dynamex, which provides same-day delivery services in the U.S. and Canada, is ranked No. 71 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
