NF Inc., parent of less-than-truckload company Con-Way Transportation Services, said Monday that its first-quarter earnings would be stronger than previously estimated.

For the quarter CNF said its earnings would be in the 66 to 69 cents per-share range, up from a previous 57- to 65-cent estimate.

CNF said in a statement that Con-Way had “strong earnings” for the quarter, without specifying a figure.

It also said its Menlo Worldwide supply chain subsidiary had increased earnings compared to last year.

The company said it will release its first-quarter earnings on April 20.

CNF is ranked No. 4 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
