CN Opens New Calgary Intermodal Facility

Canadian National Railway Co. has opened a new intermodal terminal in Calgary, Alberta, a key transfer point from the Canadian ports of Prince Rupert and Vancouver and major U.S. and Canadian cities.

The C$200 million logistics park “will provide Alberta businesses ample capacity for consumer goods and industrial materials and effective export routes for forest products, plastics and agri-products,” Jean-Jacques Ruest, CN’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement.

The new terminal, relocated from CN’s yard in southeast Calgary, has 30% more capacity than its existing Calgary terminal and space for further expansion.

Canadian National is Canada’s largest freight railroad.
