Clean Energy Fuels Corp. said it has opened a publically accessible compressed natural-gas station in a multifuel travel plaza at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

In addition to CNG, the plaza also offers fuels, such as E-85, and electric-vehicle charging stations, as well as conventional gasoline and diesel.

“As one of the first ready-mix companies in the United States to utilize natural gas in our ready-mix concrete mixers, we’re excited about fueling with Clean Energy,” Bob Gartman, vice president of operations for Ferrara Brothers Building Materials Corp., said in a statement.

The New York Department of Sanitation’s municipal refuse fleet will utilize the station.

“The new JFK CNG station makes fueling even easier for our department,” Rocco DiRico, deputy commissioner of New York City Department of Sanitation, said in a statement.
