Class 8 Truck Sales Down 54% From February 2000
Class 8 heavy-duty truck sales in February fell 20.7% from the same month in 2001 and were 54% lower than February 2000, the month before the market for new trucks began tumbling.
Sales shrank to 8,481 last month, down from 10,699 in February 2001. Year-to-date sales also declined by more than 24%, to 16,740 through February from 22,057 in 2001.
