Canadian TL Carrier Kriska Acquires Service Freight Systems

Canadian truckload carrier Kriska Transportation Group has acquired Service Freight Systems of Ontario and has kept the management team there in place.

Kriska owns several independently operated companies specializing in cross-border truckload freight with a combined 600 tractors, 1700 trailers and 850 employees and owner-operators.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.



“We are thrilled to welcome the team of logistics professionals at Service Freight Systems to the KTG family.” Kriska CEO Mark Seymour said. “SFS has been providing engineered solutions to its loyal customers for over 20 years. The KTG family of companies, with its asset based core, compliments well with SFS. They will add depth to our growing investment in logistics services. Our goal as a group is to bring solutions to customers and grow through trust and confidence.”

“Working with KTG will have so many positive economies of scale with their size and capacity, industry knowledge and their in-house expertise,” added Rob Ten Brinke, general manager of Service Freight Systems. He also will remain in his job.

Service Freight Systems specializes in temperature-controlled cross-border truckload freight.

Other Kriska Transportation Group companies include Kriska Holdings, Mill Creek Motor Freight, JMF Transport and Transpro Freight Systems.
