California to Boost Ethanol Content

The California Air Resources Board has approved more use of ethanol as part of several changes to its reformulated gasoline regulations.

Refiners making gasoline that will be sold in California will be required to blend the fuel with 10% ethanol by volume beginning Dec. 31, 2009, CARB said.

Currently, California’s gasoline supply is blended with 5.7% ethanol, according to the Renewable Fuels Association.
