State of Logistics Report Gets Makeover

The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals said it has contracted with the management consulting firm A.T. Kearney to produce its annual State of Logistics Report.

The report, which measures all costs associated with moving freight through the U.S. supply chain, was first published in 1988 by the late Robert Delaney, an executive at Cass Information Systems and a leading proponent of deregulation of the trucking industry. Since 2004, the report has been produced by Rosalyn Wilson, who collaborated with Delaney and now works as a senior business analyst with Parsons Corp.

CSCMP President Rick Blasgen said the new State of Logistics Report will include detailed analysis of economic trends impacting logistics, interviews with industry leaders and projections for 2016 and beyond. The addition of A.T. Kearney will improve the “quantitative and qualitative value” of the report, he noted in a statement released Feb. 16.

The new report will be released June 21 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., and will continue to be supported, in part, by Penske Logistics, CSCMP said.
