Total Quality Logistics is planning to open a sales office next month at Blackthorn Corporate Park on the northwest side of South Bend, Indiana.
Total Quality, which is based in Cincinnati, announced Feb. 4 that it will open the office March 7. A team of five TQL employees will open the office. The company expects to add 50 to 75 jobs at the location in the next three years.
"We're happy to open in northern Indiana and bring an office to South Bend," TQL President Kerry Byrne said in a statement. "Our satellite offices help us grow market share and maintain our leadership position in the third-party logistics business. South Bend is attractive to us for a number of reasons, including the quality and depth of professional talent in the area."
TQL ranks No. 37 on the Transport Topics Top 50 list of the largest logistics companies in North America based on revenue.
TQL, which has offices in 20 states, describes itself as "the middle men of the transportation industry." The firm connects businesses that need products moved with carriers that have capacity to haul goods.
CEO Ken Oaks worked as a produce shipper before founding TQL in 1997. The company has more than 3,800 employees and generates more than $2.2 billion in annual revenue, according to its website.
