Veeder-Root, ABF Freight Sign Deal to Manage Fuel Costs

Veeder-Root, a supplier of fuel management software and hardware, announced a multiyear contract with less-than-truckload carrier ABF Freight, a subsidiary of ArcBest Corp., for bulk fuel-management services.

Terms were not disclosed.

ArcBest ranks No. 12 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.

The arrangement is expected to provide needed efficiencies in the fleet’s fuel operations, Gary Hunt, vice president of equipment and maintenance at ABF Freight, said in a statement.

“We are also looking forward to the efficiencies and enhanced data availability that will be realized through their fuel invoice reconciliation process and its flexible reporting capabilities, which will enhance our own data analytics,” Hunt said.

The Simsbury, Connecticut-based company said its cloud-based services platform, Insite360 FuelQuest, together with its automatic tank gauges will provide ABF Freight's terminal network in North America greater insight into fleet-fueling costs.
