USA Truck Appoints Randy Rogers New CEO

USA Truck Inc. appointed logistics executive John "Randy" Rogers its new CEO, effective Jan. 14.

Rogers most recently was president of Energy and Chemicals Americas for DHL Supply Chain, formerly Exel Logistics.

USA Truck ranks No. 50 on the Transport Topics Top 100 List of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.

Rogers succeeds Thomas Glaser, who was appointed vice chairman of the board, the Van Buren, Arkansas-based truckload carrier said.

Glaser will assist in the transition, the company said.

The change comes as the company intends “to drive revenue and market-share growth” to its asset-light brokerage operation while “continuing the many improvements we have made in our trucking operations, with a sharp focus on optimizing return on invested capital in both businesses,” USA Truck Chairman Robert Peiser said in a statement.

Peiser called Rogers “a highly accomplished transportation and logistics executive with an impressive track record in one of the world’s top logistics companies.”

Also, he thanked Glaser for coming out of retirement to lead USA Truck after former CEO John Simone left for health reasons in mid-2015.

Peiser cited Glaser’s work in the substantial restructuring of the company’s trucking operations, which included efforts to achieve an operating ratio in line with industry norms, recruiting new operational leadership, right-sizing the fleet and improving operational efficiency and customer service.
