Beckham to Resign From Posts at USA Truck on Sept. 30

USA Truck
Truckload carrier USA Truck said Cliff Beckham, the company’s former CEO and now executive vice president and chief financial officer, will resign Sept. 30 “to pursue new career opportunities.”

The Van Buren, Arkansas-based company said Beckham will serve in an advisory role while the company seeks a permanent replacement.

Beckham, 42,  joined USA Truck in 1994  and was promoted from CFO to CEO in August 2007. He helped in the search for his successor, John Simone, and then returned to his role in finance in February 2013.

“Cliff has been a trusted advisor since I joined USA Truck and has made countless contributions to our company’s advancing financial turnaround,” Simone said in an Aug. 7 statement. “He leaves USA Truck on solid financial footing, with improved working capital management, increased operating cash flow and reduced debt.”

Beckham said results for the second quarter, in which USA reported its first positive net income in three years, marked “an opportune time for me to pursue new career challenges.”
