Idle Free Systems Acquired by Truck Heating, Cooling Equipment Firm

Idle Free Systems

Idle Free Systems has been acquired by Phillips & Temro Industries, a Minnesota-based supplier of heating and cooling equipment for heavy-duty trucks. Terms were not disclosed.

Idle Free supplies auxiliary power units for over-the-road, day cab and work trucks.

Idle Free CEO Robert Hopton told Transport Topics the acquisition will allow PTI to add auxiliary power units to its product line.

“This is an exciting development for our employees and customers. PTI’s engineering and technical resources, as well as its global reach, will enable us to continue to grow the company,” Idle Free CEO Robert Hopton said in a statement.

“This acquisition is an outstanding fit for PTI. Idle Free Systems is a highly innovative provider of complete, year-round idle elimination solutions for heavy-duty and work trucks. We look forward to working with the Idle Free Systems team to create further value for our customers,” Butch Sumpter, CEO of PTI, said in a statement.
