Rand McNally Integrates Devices to Navistar’s Diagnostic System

Rand McNally

Rand McNally said diagnostic code and fault code data provided by its mobile fleet-management devices will now integrate with Navistar’s remote diagnostics system, OnCommand.

The connection allows access to fault codes, health reports and action plans enabling proactive vehicle maintenance, according to the company.

“Offering an open-architecture platform has enabled us to work with industry-leading providers such as Rand McNally,” Scott Sutarik, Navistar’s service program manager, said in a statement.

“Fleets are able to leverage the technology they have already installed, such as Rand McNally’s TND 760, along with OnCommand Connection to lower repair costs and substantially increase uptime for their fleets,” he said.

The integration will work with Rand McNally’s mobile fleet-management devices HD 100, TND 760 and TPC 7600.

Navistar’s OnCommand Connection shows on-road performance, active fault codes, severity ratings and recommended action steps identified for repair and maintenance for any truck in the fleet.

The system can recommend repair plans and tell the driver to go to the nearest maintenance facility; pull over and call for assistance or wait until the next scheduled maintenance stop.
