Daimler Launches Parts E-Commerce Platform

Daimler Trucks North America said it has launched an e-commerce platform that allows transactions between customers and DTNA’s parts and service network.

Pinnacle Truck Parts is the latest addition to a suite of services offered under DTNA’s Pinnacle Fleet Solutions program, DTNA announced June 24.

The system will give customers visibility to parts availability and pricing at local retail outlets, and to Daimler inventory at parts distribution centers nationwide.

“DTNA is committed to providing the most innovative tools to improve the ease of doing business. Pinnacle Truck Parts was designed to . . . [provide] customers with a fast, reliable and simple solution for ordering parts,” said Pam Perez, DTNA’s e-commerce project manager.

The initial roll-out and implementation of Pinnacle Truck Parts began this month. It is targeted for completion by February, Daimler said.

DTNA makes Freightliner and Western Star brand trucks in North America as well as Detroit brand engines, transmissions and axles.

Separately, DTNA’s Detroit Diesel Corp. said the new “Demand Detroit” app is available on Apple and Android platforms.

DTNA unveiled a new Detroit-brand powertrain package in May, which is called the most fuel-efficient package yet. The package will be available next year.

The company said the app offers an interactive way to learn about the powertrain and can simplify the ordering process.
