Freight availability rose 1.7% in the seven-day period ended May 24 as market activity levels remain high, load board operator DAT said in its weekly report.
The unit of TransCore noted a 4.3% increase in spot market capacity, also on a sequential basis over the May 11-17 period.
Freight markets have been strengthening, the report said, with a 58% increase in loads in April over the same month of last year.
Spot rates have climbed as well, including a 2-cent rise to $2.33 per mile for refrigerated loads on a week-over-week basis. Van and flatbed rates each rose 1 cent per mile.
