Trillium to Open Public CNG Station at Honda Plant

Honda of America Manufacturing

Trillium CNG and Honda of America Manufacturing announced they will install a compressed natural gas fueling station at the car maker’s plant in Marysville, Ohio.

The automated station will have three Class 8 dispensers for carriers and a separate dispenser for light-duty and passenger vehicles, according to Honda. The facility — to be designed, constructed and operated by Trillium — will be the first CNG station located on a Honda property in North America.

“A major barrier to our carriers and suppliers adopting the use of CNG as a fuel is the lack of convenient fueling stations close to Honda facilities,” Jim Wehrman, Honda America Manufacturing senior vice president said in a statement. “By providing an accessible fueling option, we hope that our logistical partners will more closely consider the benefits of using CNG.”

The station will be located at the interchange of Route 33 and Route 739.

“Ohio remains a key state in our infrastructure development plans due to its proximity to several major interstates and shipping lanes. Trillium CNG will be operating 52 public-access CNG stations nationally by midsummer throughout the U.S.,” Trillium CNG President Mary Boettcher said in a statement.
