Navistar Inc. said it is taking orders for its International LoneStar tractor with the Cummins ISX15 engine, marking the completion of its Class 8 truck lineup’s transition to selective catalytic reduction aftertreatment.
Navistar began its move to SCR in December 2012 by launching its International ProStar model with the ISX15. In April, Navistar began offering the ProStar with its own MaxxForce 13 engine with SCR aftertreatment.
The company’s previous emissions strategy, which relied only on exhaust gas recirculation, failed to meet the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 2010 emissions standards.
Today, Navistar also offers its International PayStar 5900 Set-Back Axle and International 9900i with the ISX15, as well as the International PayStar, TranStar and WorkStar models with the MaxxForce 13 with SCR.
