Volvo AB’s North American truck deliveries dropped 3% in August from a year ago, the company said Sept. 18.
Deliveries of its Volvo and Mack brands fell to 3,188 trucks from 3,287 a year ago, Gothenberg, Sweden-based Volvo said in a statement.
Volvo AB, the parent company of Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks, also makes the Eicher, UD Trucks and Renault Trucks brands.
North American Volvo-brand truck deliveries dipped 2% to 1,708 trucks, while Mack’s also fell 2%, to 1,456.
Year-to-date, North American deliveries are 18% below a year ago, at 28,041 units. A small number of Volvo’s Renault and UD Trucks brands made up the remainder of the North American tally.
Worldwide truck deliveries for all Volvo brands dropped 4% in July to almost 12,864 units, led by a 43% decline in eastern Europe, to 853.
