Used truck registrations rose 9.1% during the first half of the year compared with the same period last year, according to R.L. Polk & Co.
About 357,100 used commercial registrations were recorded through June, based on Polk analysis.
Second-quarter transactions were the highest since the 2011 second quarter, reflecting continued demand for used equipment, Polk said in a statement.
New commercial-vehicle registrations during the first six months of 2013 increased by 0.5% over the same time period in 2012.
Polk recently reported that second-quarter U.S. heavy-duty fleet registrations rose 2.7% year-over-year. That report said that used trucks continue to be the most popular type of truck.
