Qualcomm Inc., San Diego, said the unit that includes its in-cab wireless communications devices lost $3 million before taxes in its fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 30.
The Qualcomm Enterprise Solutions unit that serves the trucking industry is part of Qualcomm’s QWI, or wireless and Internet group, whose results swung to the loss from a profit before taxes of $1 million in the prior year period.
A revenue decline to $146 million from $152 million was primarily due to lower sales at the QES unit, Qualcomm said in a regulatory filing.
