Cummins Inc. on Friday announced the appointment of two longtime leaders of its engine unit to run key business operations within that division.
Ed Pence — who has been general manager of Cummins’ heavy-duty engine business since 2005 — will lead Cummins’ high horsepower business, which includes mining, marine, oil and gas, rail and locomotive, power generation and defense units.
Dave Crompton — who has been with the company for 25 years — will lead the heavy-duty, midrange and light-duty worldwide product businesses, which are being combined into a single global operating entity within the engine business.
Pence will replace Mark Levett, who will take on a new role as vice president of corporate responsibility and community relations and CEO of the Cummins Foundation.
Pence joined Cummins in 1981 and has held a variety of key positions with Cummins, working in on- and off-Highway original equipment manufacturers and customers.
