YRC FreightYRC Freight said it is raising its rates 6.9%, following recently announced rate hikes of the same amount by several less-than-truckload competitors.
The rate hike will cover non-contractual shipments in the United States, Canada and Mexico and will become effective July 9.
Domestic Canadian rates will not be adjusted, YRC said in a statement on its website.
FedEx Freight and Con-way Freight recently announced 6.9% rate increases.
YRC Freight is a unit of LTL carrier YRC Worldwide, ranked No. 4 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
