Avery Weigh-Tronix Ltd. said it has acquired Central Weighing Ltd. to add to its market share in the commercial vehicle scale sector.
No terms were announced in the statement earlier this month by Avery Weigh-Tronix, Fairmont, Minn., which is a subsidiary of Illinois Tool Works.
Central Weighing supplies vehicle weighing systems. It also offers a Web-based tracking and monitoring system for municipal vehicles and the waste industry sold under the Exactrak name.
“The acquisition of Central Weighing will bring a new depth of innovative products, allowing us the opportunity to expand our global reach and bring added value to the market by leveraging existing distribution networks,” Peggi Trimble, Avery Weigh-Tronix’s general manager for its industrial division, said in a statement.
