Kenworth Truck Co. said its new T680 heavy-duty truck has been SmartWay-certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The SmartWay Transport Partnership is a collaboration between the EPA and freight industry designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions.
SmartWay-designated trucks must be aerodynamic and include options to reduce extended engine idling.
The T680 went into production in late May after a four year, $400 million investment by Kenworth.
