P.A.M. Reports Fourth-Quarter Loss
P.A.M. Transportation Services reported a fourth-quarter loss of $3.9 million, or 42 cents per share, compared with a loss of $11.4 million, or $1.19, a year earlier.
Revenue for the quarter fell 3.7% to $80.9 million, the truckload carrier and logistics firm said Monday.
Logistics revenue rose to $11.3 million, from $7.7 million, the company said.
The company cited a $4.2 million write down on a group of tractors, a big workers’ compensation claim and reduction in fuel surcharges as contributing factors to the loss.
For the full year, the company lost $10.8 million, or $1.15 per share, compared with a loss of $18.8 million, or $1.94, in 2008.
P.A.M. is ranked No. 62 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
