Cummins Inc. announced a multi-year extension of its current agreement with Chrysler Group, continuing a partnership that began 21 years ago.

Cummins, Columbus, Ind., said Wednesday it will supply 6.7-liter turbo diesel engines for Ram heavy-duty pickups and chassis cab trucks.
The company has produced over 1.7 million turbo diesel engines for Dodge Ram trucks since 1989.

More than 80% of current Ram truck customers purchase their trucks with Cummins engines.

The engines are rated at 350 horsepower and 650 foot-pounds of torque. The company said the engines met 2010 federal emissions standards in 2007.
