ATRI Seeks Motor Carrier Feedback for Safety Study

The American Transportation Research Institute is seeking input for carriers to create a database of crash costs by type and severity, the nonprofit research organization announced March 2.

ATRI is calling on motor carriers to take part in the data collection process. The group also is working with insurance industry partners for the crash cost database. Participants will be asked to provide information related to property damage, attorney and court costs, and towing and recovery costs.

The results would be used to update the Onboard Safety System cost-benefit analyses ATRI has published over 10 years. Information on how to sign up is available on ATRI’s website.
