ATRI, FMCSA Co-Hosting Online Safety Forum Tuesday

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the American Transportation Research Institute will co-host the latest in a series of national online forums that provide peer-to-peer industry insights on safety technologies on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

The “webinar” will focus on carrier utilization of untethered trailer tracking systems, or UTT, and their potential for enhancing asset management and security in trucking operations, ATRI said.

The 90-minute program starts at noon Eastern time.

With the dramatic increase in the use of trailer tracking systems throughout the U.S., it is important to understand the operational impacts and opportunities that UTTs can provide, ATRI said.

Industry participants will hear from Mike Gabbei, chief information officer for Celadon Group, and Al Hoffer, director of trailer operations for Landstar System.

Motor carrier representatives can simultaneously listen and watch the live FMCSA-sponsored webinar from any location in the United States with Internet and telephone access.

To register for the webinar, send an email to FMCSA_Host@dot.gov and include the words “UTT Webinar” in the subject line.

Please include your company name and location in your e-mail. Confirmation notices will be emailed within 24 hours of registration and will contain the Web address, phone number, and other relevant information for participation.
